Woman Died of Heat Stroke
A 46-year-old woman believed to be homeless died from
possible heat stroke during the hottest stretch of the year in San Antonio,
according to San Antonio Police. The report says that the woman was found
unresponsive on the sidewalk near a gas station downtown. Paramedics were
called to the scene and performed lifesaving measures but were unsuccessful and
declared the woman dead. Authorities believe the woman died from natural causes
resulting from a heat-related illness. The National Weather Service reported
that San Antonio reached 106 degrees on Thursday, breaking a 76-year-old record
as the hottest stretch of 2024 continues.
